Who We Work With

We are facilitators of individual and group transformation. We work with people who:

  • * understand the value of human diversity and want to tap the potential and power in cross-racial relationships

  • * are anxious to move beyond basic level diversity training and develop powerful strategies for creating authentic racial healing

  • * are tired of ineffective strategies for addressing racial conflict and ready to implement new initiatives to create unity

  • * are longing to free themselves from racial conditioning, open to self-reflection, and willing to experiment with new behaviors

  • * want to build trusting cross-cultural relationships and are open to new approaches that involve tapping their higher or spiritual selves

  • * see themselves as conscious and aware of racial issues but frequently feel ineffective or shut down in interactions

The Race Story ReWrite Project primarily addresses itself to the hopes and challenges of Blacks and Whites.  Our intention for having this focus is not to dismiss or minimize other diversity issues; we understand that race is not the only problem that needs to be addressed and that separation between Black and White is not the only dynamic of race.  Yet at present the members of our team are Black and White and our expertise is in addressing matters related to their concerns. Maintaining this particular emphasis brings credibility to our presentations and provides greater impact and substance for our workshop participants.
Because the principles we promote have relevance for creating healing between any groups that have been in a historically dominant/subordinate relationship, we work with people of all cultures and ethnicities who are committed to racial healing and willing to explore new solutions from a spiritual or higher-self perspective. However our workshops are particularly effective for groups that are Black/White, for those who work to build bridges between Blacks and Whites,  and for more diverse groups that are open to using the Black/White model to address their specific needs.
